Year 2 Class
Year 2 is taught by Mrs Moody, Mrs Britt and Mr Walsh (once a week) supported by their Learning Support Assistants Mrs Mullock and Mrs Crew. English and maths are taught daily and all other subjects are rotated across each half term. We support the children’s individual learning needs through personalised tasks, differentiated learning and adult intervention.
Our half termly topics are based around our English texts which, where possible, link in with our foundation topics. These include; investigating different materials in science, significant women in history and The Great Fire of London. Some of these topics are supported by additional activities such as visits to Queen Mary’s College, Basingstoke and Zoom calls with Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale.
The children participate in twice weekly sessions of P.E. One session is indoors, whilst the other is currently taught outside by a specialist coach who is teaching Year 2 a range of skills each half term.
